Blood Drive at UMASS

UMASS Dartmouth located at 285 Old Westport Road is hosting a blood drive in the Woodland Commons on Wednesday, March 9, from 2 pm - 7 pm. All donors will receive a coupon for a free lunch pack at Cumberland Farms.

The American Red Cross Blood Services - Northeast Division must distribute approximately 3,000 units of blood each day just to meet the basic needs of area patients.

Collaborating with Interstate Battery on Faunce Corner Road, Dartmouth Fire District 3 collected enough toys this holiday season to bring smiles to many faces of the Family Center in New Bedford. The toys were sorted and distributed by the Family Center to children of New Bedford and surrounding towns. We would like to thank everyone who donated to this special event.

Novelty Lighters Ban

In early November, Governor Patrick signed legislation passed this summer that prohibits the sale of lighters, which due to their physical or audio features make them appealing to children under the age of 10. Toy-like or novelty lighters have been responsible for injuries, deaths, and accidents across the nation.

Fire Prevention Open House

October is Fire Prevention Month and Dartmouth Fire District 3 is having an open house on Sunday, October 17th from 11 AM - 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be refreshments and pizza courtesy of Papa Gino’s in Dartmouth. Sparky will make a special appearance.
